HONG KONG! A WAY OUT

The tension remained high in Hong Kong on Friday despite an agreement yesterday between local authorities and students to open a dialogue. Beijing has warned that the demands of protesters were "doomed to failure".

The main streets of Hong Kong were still blocked, Friday, Oct. 3. In the morning, pro-democracy activists clashed with police outside the headquarters of the local authority, despite the agreement reached yesterday between the authorities and students to open a dialogue.

Most demonstrators gathered en masse on the night before the buildings housing the headquarters of the Legislative Council and the local executive, had gone home but a hundred protesters remained determined in place. They are demanding the establishment of a full and complete and the resignation of the head of the local executive, Leung Chun-ying, which they consider a puppet of Beijing universal suffrage.
